Welcome to pubScan!
An interactive map of PubMed as a co-authorship network: nodes are authors, edges are the publications they wrote together.
Search for an author
The author you search for appears at the center of the network, highlighted in . Click a node for publications and topics, click an edge for joint publications, double-click a node to re-center the network on that author.
Search for a topic
The same box takes a research topic or keyword, e.g. RNA splicing or CRISPR: pick it from the suggestions to see the authors publishing most on it, ranked by number of publications, and open their networks from there.
Node colors
Publications in PubMed: < 10, 10-50, 50-100, > 100
What is shown
To stay readable and fast, a network shows up to 100 co-authors (ranked by shared publications) and up to 1,000 edges: all edges of the central author, the 100 strongest links and a random sample of the rest.
